１章で調べた語をずらずらっと並べます。なるべく出てきた順番に上から並べていますが、多少ジャンプしている語もあります。◆のついた語は意味的なことも含めて初見のものです。これらの語彙に馴染みのある人は、この小説をすらすら読める人と言うことができるでしょう。僕は馴染みのない語がたんまりありました…。(-_-;
会話がかなり多く、荒っぽく略された表現がたくさんあるので、結構読みにくい文章だな、と感じました。トムとポーリーおばさんの攻防は面白いです。トムはお母さんがなくなっているので、お母さんの姉妹であるおばさんに育てられているのですね(お父さんは最後まで出てこなかった記憶が)。
おばさんには実の子供がいて、和訳では「シッド」で統一されていたと思います。トムとシッドは性格が全然違って仲が悪い。トムの性格の荒っぽさや、その反面としての傷心しやすさ、根っからの空想好きは、違う家庭で育っていることが背景になっているんですね。そう思うと、家庭小説としてもなかなか深いです。
